Join Ryan, the owner of Risen Fly, as he hosts you to some amazing fishing on the Salmon River in New York.  You'll enjoy 4 nights and 3 days of fishing for King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead, lake run Brown Trout and the ultra rare Atlantic Salmon on the Salmon River in Pulaski, NY.  We will be fishing from the morning through evening on the Douglaston Salmon Run property.  You will enjoy spacious fishing room as they limit the number of fishermen per day on this stretch and since it is the first stretch of water from the lake you will get the freshest fish as they enter the tributary to spawn.

Details on arrival: You will arrive throughout the first day and will check in and get comfortable in our amazing accommodations at a luxurious retreat center.  This place has it all to relax when we are not fishing.  It sits on 140 acres, has a 2 acre pond, 900 sq/ft deck, wifi, 55" tv, full kitchen, sun room and so much more.  This day is reserved to just get comfortable.  You're welcome to fish when you arrive or just relax and get ready for the first full day of fishing.  We will assist you in any last minute questions you have and give a layout of what each day will look like.  For days 2-4 you will have a quick breakfast in the morning, pack a lunch for the day and be on the water early in the morning to fish all day.  You're welcome to come and go but be prepared to fish until just before dark if you would like.

Outside of the cost of the trip you will also be responsible for a 7 day New York non-resident license $28. (resident $12).  This year we have purchased and included the costs for daily passes to the Douglaston Salmon Run.

Fishing: We will be fishing the Salmon river and targeting king salmon, coho salmon, steelhead, and browns with the rare atlantic salmon mixed in.  The river is a bottom release stream in which the flow is regulated so conditions can be fairly predictable.  At this time of year you can count on mainly kings and cohos with a few steelhead and browns mixed in.  The large kings are commonly in the 20-30lb range with a few that topple 40lbs every year.

*** This fishing trip is not guided as we are not guides in the state of New York.  We are hosting the trip to give you an amazing opportunity to fish these waters and will assist in getting you ready for the trip and making your accommodations as comfortable as possible.

Gear: We of course can help you out with this.  Once you book we will send you information on what gear is needed for this trip and how to prepare.  Basic gear needed will be fly rods and reels in the 7-9wt size, leaders and tippet ranging from 8-15 pounds, streamer, egg and nymph flies, waders and boots and a few other items.  We will help gear you up with what you need and will also have extra gear there in case of any malfunctioning gear or breaks (which happen often when fighting big fish like this).

We look forward to meeting many of you who have helped and supported Risen Fly over the years.  This is a great trip and the many friends I have taken over the years can attest to the great fishing and hospitality I have provided them.

Here's a video of what you can expect on the trip.  This is most of our group from 2019.
